Here is the summary of the official
2014/2015 JAMB cut-off marks. The official cut-off mark for
Universities, Polytechnic and Colleges of Education as released by
the Federal Government in consultation with the Joint Admission and
Matriculations Board (JAMB) and other stakeholders.
JAMB Cut-off Marks for Universities – 2014/2015
Federal Universities is 180 while State
Universities will want to set theirs. This is because they are run by
the state Government but be certain that many of them will follow the
Federal Guideline of 180 cut-off Marks.
Official 2014 Cut-off Marks for Polytechnics & Colleges of Education
Polytechnics have been
stipulates to use 150 as the 2014 Cut-off marks. JAMB Candidates who
have chosen polytechnics and have scored a minimum of 150 will likely
qualify for Post-UTME screening. The same goes for the Colleges of Education in the Country.
We used the statement; “will likely
qualify for Post-UTME Screening”, why? This is because, this official
Federal Government / JAMB cut-off mark is only a guide. It represents
the least mark any institution could consider for admission.
What is the implication? The implication
of this is that, as the JAMB cut-off mark for Universities stands at
180, some Universities (like UNILORIN, OAU, etc) would likely use 200 as
cut-off mark. Any University can use cut off point that is more than
180 but it cannot be lesser.
