The resolution by the board was partly linked on structural encounters connected with Paper Pencil Test exam, particularly with the distribution of materials; examination questions and answer sheets to states in Nigeria.
The assessment centers on the outbreak of security in the country and the high cost involved in the course of action.
Ojerinde publicized the resolution at the commissioning of a N150 million model Computer Based Test ( CBT) centre in Kogo Bwari, Abuja , on Friday .
Dibu said, “ we are not going back to PPT anymore ; this is the end of PPT in the country . PPT was full of fraud , malpractices, logistic problems and insecurity. So, we do not want to go back to it; we now have a solution with the
introduction of CBT. We are forging ahead with it. ”
He further said the board uses over 98 vehicles to distribute examination material to the centres, a development he noted does not also guarantee the security of the materials.
On the preparation to go full ICT concept, he said, “there are over 156 CBT centres nationwide and 10 were personally built by the board.”
The JAMB boss also used the opportunity to clear the air on the issue of multiple registration for candidates. He said; “ The new policy is that any candidate who engages in multiple registration will be banned for three years”.
Supervising Minister of Education , Nyesom Wike, who commissioned the centre, advised other public examination bodies in the country to emulate JAMB.
Wike said, “Federal Government is assisting to compliment the existing centres in the country. He added that government intends to review the education curriculum to produce graduates that can create jobs and add value to the economy”.
“ The JAMB experience is already a model in Africa and has become a national pride which can proudly be showcased to the world.
