Niger State School of Nursing Urges Government to Provide Infrastructure
The Provost, Niger State School of Nursing, Bida, Mr Joseph Sule, has called on the state government and well to do individuals to help provide infrastructure in the institution that will assist the school to gain accreditation for its programme.
Speaking in Minna on Friday, Sule said infrastructure as the cardinal base for accreditation, were lacking in the institution.
He appealed for more interventions as the school could only index 50 students per session due to lack of adequate structure to accommodate larger number of students.
He noted that staff of the institution were being motivated for further studies by paying 50 per cent of tuition fees of anyone who got admission for further studies.
The provost stated that since he assumed office, he had put in place strategies to curtail admission fraud by selling admission forms in the bank and handled by admission committee comprising staff of the school, ministry of tertiary education and some of the sister schools, which have helped to reduced admission recketeering.
Sule said for effective and efficient running of the school, it needed about N200m annually for capital projects, recurrent budget and overhead even as he advised the students to be hard working, shun malpractices and cultism.
He charged the staff to be dedicated to their duties in order to achieve the set objectives of the institution.
